Load the canoe into adjustable cradles at waist level, tie the canoe to the cradles, and then release the levers to allow the gas struts to lift the canoe and cradles into a locking position on the roof. Tie the front and back of the canoe down and you are ready to go.
No need to reach top of vehicles to secure boat to carrier - boat strapping is easily done with carrier in down position.
